What is “common sense” Jesus?
It is looking – with common sense – at what Jesus said and might have meant and getting past “the mystery” of faith and trying to get to what common sense would tell us. What is the message that is right under our noses?
“The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21).
John 14:17; 25-27 The Promise of the Holy Spirit
17 This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.
25 “I have said these things to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
Common sense Jesus says look beyond the dogma, I am not there. I am inside of you.
